Privacy Policy

Overview
The Good Partner ("the App") is a multiplayer party game. We take your privacy seriously and collect the minimum data necessary to make the game work. We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.
Data we collect
Gameplay data
- Display name: The name you enter when joining a game. Visible to other players in your session.
- Game choices: Your in-game selections (A or B) during each round, used to generate your personalised verdict and visible to other players after each round.
- Session data: Archetype selection, relationship meter values, response times, and round timing data necessary for gameplay.
Account data
- Email address: If you choose to sign in, we collect your email address to create your account and send you a magic link for authentication. Your email is used solely for sign-in and to associate your purchases and entitlements with your account. You can play as a guest without providing an email.
- Purchase records: If you make a purchase, we store a record of the transaction (product purchased, date, and Stripe session ID) linked to your account. Payment details (card number, billing address) are handled entirely by Stripe and never touch our servers.
Device identifier
- Anonymous device ID: A randomly generated identifier (UUID) created and stored locally on your device. This is sent to our server when you create or join a game. It is used solely to track aggregate engagement (e.g. how many unique devices have played). It is not linked to your identity, Apple ID, Google account, or any advertising network.
Crash reports
- Firebase Crashlytics: The App uses Google Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and error logs. This may include device model, OS version, stack traces, and crash timestamps. This data is used exclusively for diagnosing and fixing bugs. No personal information is included in crash reports. See Firebase Privacy for details.
Data we do not collect
- Real names or social media account information
- Location or GPS data
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID)
- Contacts, photos, or other on-device content
- Browsing or search history
- Health, financial, or biometric data
- Cookies (the website uses no cookies)
How data is used
All data collected is used solely to:
- Run multiplayer game sessions in real time
- Generate personalised verdict results at the end of each game
- Authenticate your account and send sign-in links
- Process purchases and manage your content entitlements
- Track aggregate, anonymous usage statistics (e.g. total games played, archetype popularity)
- Diagnose and fix crashes and bugs
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the game.
Data shared with other players
During a game session, other players in the same game can see: your display name, your archetype, and your round-by-round choices (after each round completes). Your personalised verdict is only visible to you (unless you choose to share it via the share feature, which is handled by your device's operating system).
Data retention
- Account data: Your email address and purchase records are retained for as long as your account exists. You can request account deletion at any time.
- Game sessions: Inactive lobbies are automatically deleted after 30 minutes. In-game sessions are deleted after 2 hours of inactivity. Completed sessions may be retained for aggregate statistics.
- Device ID: The anonymous device ID is stored locally on your device indefinitely and on our server as part of session records. You can reset it at any time by reinstalling the App or clearing browser data.
- Crash reports: Retained by Firebase Crashlytics according to Google's standard retention policy (typically 90 days).
Data deletion
You can request deletion of any data associated with your device by contacting us at privacy@thegoodpartner.app. Since we do not collect account information, you will need to provide your device ID (available in the App's settings) so we can locate your records. You may also delete your local data at any time by uninstalling the App.

We do not use any advertising SDKs, analytics platforms, or social media trackers.
Children's privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Some content (particularly the "After Dark" deck) is intended for adults aged 18 and over. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
International users
Game data is processed on servers that may be located outside your country of residence. By using the App, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data as described in this policy.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Request access to the data we hold about your device
- Request deletion of your data
- Opt out of data collection by not using the App

Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
